About me

Hello!
My name is
Nichapat Raksayot, but you can call me Friend. I’m currently a third-year student majoring in English Education at the Faculty of Education, Suratthani Rajabhat University in Thailand.

Why I Joined the SEA Teacher Program

The SEA Teacher Program was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. I wanted to use English in real-life communication, gain hands-on teaching experience, and immerse myself in a new culture. I believed this program would help me step out of my comfort zone and improve both my professional and personal skills—and it truly exceeded my expectations.

Highlights of My Practicum

  • Observe and assist in teaching classes under the guidance of Ma’am Lacuata, my supervising teacher.
  • Create and revise lesson plans (PROAPP) and eventually conduct my Grand Demo Teaching, which was my first real teaching experience in English.
  • Teach Grade 7 students who used English as their second language. It was challenging but also incredibly rewarding to see my lesson come together.

What made the experience even more special was the support from my amazing Filipino buddies, Eric and Elisha. They made my life in Manila so much easier by helping me adapt to the school, university, and local culture. I’ll always remember how welcoming and kind everyone was to me.

The Challenges I Faced

One of the challenges I encountered was teaching students who were already proficient in English as their second language, while for me, English is a foreign language. I felt nervous at first, but with the guidance of my mentor teacher, the support of my buddies, and my own determination, I overcame my worries. It turned out to be an experience that made me more confident in my teaching abilities.

Reflections and Gratitude

This program has been one of the most valuable experiences in my life. I grew as a future educator, improved my communication skills, and learned to adapt to unexpected situations.

Final Thoughts

Being part of the SEA Teacher Program was truly a life-changing opportunity. I gained confidence, improved my teaching skills, and created memories that I will cherish forever. I feel so lucky to have been part of this program, and I will always carry this experience with me as I continue my journey to becoming an educator.

Thank you for being part of my story!
